This April, our Sports Performance Director, Don Jupp, selected Nick Zappala as our Athlete of the Month.
“Nick has been full circle with us,” Don said. “He came to us with an avulsion fracture in his elbow and recovered with Tom Bratcher, then moved to our sports performance program where he trained with me, Josh Petchul and our Director of Baseball, Jim Lefebvre.”
Nick has been playing organized baseball since he was 5 years old, but played wiffle ball since he was very little.
Nick was born in Boston and is a lifelong Red Sox fan. He became interested in baseball at a very young age, watching Red Sox games and loving how Pedro Martinez and Nomar Garciaparra played.
Currently Nick plays for Boulder Creek High School and travel ball with Gauchos Baseball Academy. He is a pitcher and plays third base.
Nick wants to play college baseball. He aspires to play at ASU and be a professional baseball player and/or a GM or agent.
Nick’s favorite subjects in school are PE, Art and Business. He spends most of his time playing baseball, but in his off time he loves to spend time with his friends and watch sports.
“Nick has recovered very well since his injury two years ago,” Don said. “His success on the field directly shows just how hard he works in here with us and on the field with his team.”
We are still open and providing in-clinic service at a case-by-case basis as well as providing telemedicine and other channels for remote treatment/training. Call your nearest Center location for more details.
