Our Athlete of the Month is 13-year-old Kailey Trapp, a middle blocker for Alliance Volleyball Academy. Kailey was nominated by Chris McGovern, Arrowhead’s Sports Performance Director and has been training with him for the past three months.
“She’s a very impressive athlete and she has been committed to improving from day one,” Chris said. “She has become even more enthusiastic after seeing the initial improvements in her hitting and jumping power, which is always exciting to work with as a coach.”
Kailey has been playing volleyball for the past five years and began playing because she didn’t want to play in a contact sport and thought if there was a net in the way, she wouldn’t get beat up. She plans on playing for Sandra Day O’Connor as a freshman next year.
Kailey would like to be a Veterinarian and if given the opportunity, she would like to play in college and in the Olympics.
In her free time, Kailey enjoys hanging out with friends and listening to music.
