This August, we’ve selected Haily Diltz as our Athlete of the Month. Haily has been competing for the past five years and her coaches from Xtreme Gymnastics, Emily and Becky, nominated her because of her hard work and dedication.
“Throughout the time we have known Haily, she has displayed the moral character, discipline, organization and commitment necessary in being a successful student-athlete,” Coaches Emily and Becky said. “From this experience, we can say with confidence that Haily is a dedicated student-athlete who leads others by setting a strong example with her effort and intensity in the classroom and gym.”
Haily has worked with our Strength & Conditioning Specialists for the past two years to help improve on her performance.
Her coaches, teammates and family have been a big support system and have helped her throughout her gymnastics journey.
This year, Haily was the Arizona Spring State Champion in level 5 on Vault, Uneven Bars, Floor and the All-Around.
“Haily exhibits her parent’s strong moral values on a daily basis through her interactions with teammates and coaches,” Coaches Emily and Becky said. “It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to coach Haily.”
“I wanted to start competing when I got asked to join the gymnastics team while I lived in Michigan,” Haily said. “I love the sport and I wanted to start competing against girls from other gyms around the country.”
Haily’s favorite event to perform is the bars and she thinks it would be great to be able to compete in college, but she’s taking her gymnastics career year by year before then.
In her free time, Haily likes to hang out with friends and when she grows up, she would like to be a doctor.
Her favorite gymnasts are Simone Biles and Aly Raisman.
