Our Athlete of the Month is Chris Nicolai, a forward for the U18 Jr. Coyotes hockey organization.
His coach, Brad Bayer, nominated Chris for his constant improvement on and off the ice.
“Chris’s new attitude and on ice work ethic is setting above the rest along with three goals in the Bobcat game, which was huge,” coach Bayer said.
Chris has been playing hockey for the past 14 years, two of them with the Jr. Coyotes. He wanted to start playing hockey because his dad and sister played.
“I want to play college hockey and hopefully some day professional,” Chris said. “I would want to play college hockey for my hometown team, University of Alaska Fairbanks.”
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching tv, playing video games, and listening to music. When he gets older, he wants to be an anesthesiologist.
His favorite player is Claude Giroux and his favorite thing about hockey is winning, being successful and scoring goals. His least favorite thing is losing.
Chris has been doing his strength and conditioning training at the Center for the past two years with Don Jupp, CSCS, and Josh Petchel, CSCS.
We are still open and providing in-clinic service at a case-by-case basis as well as providing telemedicine and other channels for remote treatment/training. Call your nearest Center location for more details.
